Mentor

Michael Alan Schwartz is a distinguished attorney and member of the Michigan Lawyers Weekly Hall of Fame (2023). He is a graduate of Fordham University School of Law and the principal of Schwartz, PLLC, based in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Over the course of his career, Mr. Schwartz has served in numerous prominent legal roles. He is a published author, lecturer, adjunct professor, and expert witness. He has acted as General Counsel to The Word Network and Adell Broadcasting Corporation. His prior firm affiliations include Partner at Fieger, Fieger, Schwartz & Kenney, P.C., and Charfoos & Christensen, P.C. Mr. Schwartz has also held significant public and professional service positions, including Grievance Administrator and Chief Disciplinary Prosecutor for the Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission, and Deputy Chief Counsel to the Committee on Grievances for the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. Earlier in his career, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn, New York.

Batoul is a legal intern at Wandzel, where she assists in the development of the firm’s international legal services capabilities, particularly with respect to the Middle East and the United Kingdom. Her international legal experience and multicultural perspective help support the firm’s commitment to serving clients engaged in cross-border business and international commercial matters. She brings a strong academic foundation in law, having earned her LL.B. (Honours First Class), along with experience in legal research, advocacy, and complex legal problem-solving developed over more than eight years of legal practice. Prior to joining Wandzel, Batoul worked on a variety of legal and humanitarian initiatives, including as a lawyer in law firms based in Dubai and projects with the United Nations focused on international and human rights issues. Her international background and exposure to diverse legal systems provide valuable insight into cross-border business matters and global commercial relationships. She has a strong interest in international business, comparative legal systems, and the intersection of law, culture, and commerce.

A graduate of the University of Michigan and founder of Lahuta, Esti is a software architect who actively manages and builds a platform to allow website hosting with AI-native digital rolodexes. He configures automation at Wandzel and coordinates marketing campaigns.

As the Emissary for Wandzel, Erin White bridges the firm’s legal expertise with the communities and businesses it serves. She helps translate the firm’s mission and values into meaningful connections through strategic partnerships, outreach initiatives, and digital storytelling that highlights the people behind the practice. Erin brings a creative and analytical approach to expanding Wandzel’s reach. Her focus is on building relationships, strengthening visibility, and ensuring that every interaction reflects the firm’s commitment to professionalism, trust, and community impact.

As a legal clerk dedicated to clear communication and client-centered advocacy, Alex Deherder brings a thoughtful and analytical lens to every matter he handles. His path to the legal field was shaped by both personal inspiration and professional resilience, leading him to develop a practice grounded in diligence, curiosity, and a commitment to meaningful impact. Alex’s experience spans corporate, private practice, and in-house settings, giving him a versatile understanding of how legal issues intersect with the day-to-day needs of businesses and individuals. He has worked in auto insurance defense and assisted a major media company on matters involving contracts, intellectual property, and compliance. Across his roles, he focuses on building trust, translating complex legal questions into actionable guidance, and supporting clients with a steady, solutions-oriented mindset.

As a driven political science student and emerging public service professional at the University of Michigan, Pedro focuses on strengthening the link between communities, institutions, and the policies that shape their lives. His work spans research, mentorship, and organizational leadership, all centered on expanding access, elevating overlooked voices, and fostering meaningful engagement across diverse environments. At Wandzel, Pedro helps coordinate meetings and draft publications that help clients realize the scope of skills the attorneys possess. Pedro has focused on AI policy, corporate formation, and other pertinent topics in these writings.
